The self-proclaimed “Yachting Capital of the World” has plenty of marinas and restaurants along the Intracoastal Waterway. This is just one of the things that makes Ft. Lauderdale such an excellent yachting and boating destination. 17th Street Yacht Basin, part of the famed Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina Hotel, has recently raised the bar for both.
17th Street Yacht Basin, managed by US Marina Group, has just completed a major renovation to its biggest asset; a fully rebuilt superyacht face dock, which is directly on the Intracoastal, less than 1 mile from the Port Everglades inlet and direct ocean access to the Atlantic. The renovation is now complete with 850’ of parallel superyacht fixed concrete dockage with a capacity for yachts up to 300’. And with 17.5’ draft MLW, this gives us the deepest Fort Lauderdale slips inside the 17th Street Causeway bridge. In addition, the power has been updated, the adjacent sidewalks have been widened to 10’ and fresh landscaping has been added. Also nearing completion for this fall is the complete renovation our 30 interior slips, serving boats up to 65’.
While the marina is now refreshed, there is also a new hot spot on-site for scenic dinner and drinks at the Hilton’s Olive & Sea, a brand-new rooftop waterfront restaurant just above the face dock, overlooking the waterway, serving colorful and bold Mediterranean-style dishes, fresh flavors, and locally sourced seafood. Complementing the menu is a creatively crafted cocktail program that infuses traditional Eastern Mediterranean spices. Below the restaurant, the Hilton has created a beautiful new waterfront meeting and expo facility.
With offices in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, FL, US Marina Group is a premier 3rd party marina management and advisory company for marinas in the US and abroad.
